Runtz is a popular hybrid strain developed in California. The strain was created by crossing Zkittlez and Gelato, two other highly prized strains. This cross resulted in a strain known for its sweet, candy-like aroma and fruity flavor reminiscent of Runts candy.
The strain was first introduced in Los Angeles in 2017 and quickly gained popularity, leading to Runtz being named Leafly's "Strain of the Year" in 2020.
